Stargazing Binoculars

Hi everyone! I want to buy stargazing binoculars. I read that it is important to look at the lens diameter and the quality of the glass, but there are so many models in stores that my eyes run wild. Has anyone used binoculars with high magnification? How comfortable are they to hold in your hands? Or are they useless without a tripod? I also wonder if it is worth overpaying for a brand or if I can get something mid-range without losing quality? Please advise which models are worth considering. The main thing is that the price is reasonable, but the quality is good. Thank you!

Hi! Yes, if you want to observe the stars, then a large lens is important - at least 70 mm, better 80 or 100 mm. The larger lens, the more light it collects, and this is important at night. But there is a nuance - such binoculars are heavy, and without tripod they are difficult to hold. For example, Celestron SkyMaster 80 or 100 mm are excellent models with durable body and a tripod adapter. They have good BAK-4 prisms and multi-layer lens coating, so the picture will be clear and contrasty. If you want to look at different models by price and characteristics, here is a useful link: best mid priced binoculars. There are options for different budgets.

Judging by the reviews, models with a large lens diameter really give a cool picture, but they are difficult to use without a tripod. I think it all depends on how and where you are going to observe. If from home, then a tripod solves all the problems. If on hike, something compact may be more convenient, albeit with lower magnification. The main thing is good quality lenses.
