Can someone here explain to me why your game cannot be played split-screen? (2 players on the same screen)?

I spent my entire youth playing splitscreen with friends and it was so much fun! Now God says why it is impossible.

What's the point of making hdr, 4k, ultra graphic, ray tracing, year round updates and all these flashy stuff
if the basics are gone?
